On the 25th June 1950, thousands of North Korean soldiers poured over the border with South Korea. This site aims to explain why soldiers of Belgium and Luxembourg would, within a year, be fighting in some of the key battles of that conflict, thousands of kilometres from home – and why their exploits were so quickly forgotten by those at home.

This site is dedicated to the 3,171 Belgian and 78 Luxembourgish soldiers who served valiantly in Korea, and, above all, to the 101 Belgians and 2 Luxembourgers killed in action during the "Forgotten War".

We hope that our site will, by bringing the history to a wider public, promote the memory of the war, and even, through stories and testimonies from Belgian veterans, help us to try to understand – just a bit – what they experienced.
